With the inspiration from my dear friend Stan, for the past six-or-so years, I’ve participated in a gratitude practice on social media during November.
It might sound silly; yet posting something on social media that I have been grateful for every day really changed my outlook on life and my surroundings.
Sometimes I’ve just been grateful that I have clean, running water in my home, other times I’ve been grateful for being part of a supportive, caring community.
Paying tribute to both the little things and the big things really adds up and fosters a stronger “attitude of gratitude” all year long!
As we thought about how we wanted to celebrate Giving Tuesday, an annual day dedicated to giving back (the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber-Monday), we decided that we wanted to flip the script and be the ones to do the giving all month long instead of asking for donations.
Don’t get me wrong; we want your support and investment in our work.
Yet, as we get ready to celebrate our 40th anniversary in 2019, we wanted to thank all of our partners, friends and funders from the bottom of our hearts for the countless ways you continue to help us build strong families and supportive communities to keep children safe.
Join us in remembering all the reasons we are grateful to work in such a connected, supportive community that is committed to investing upstream in safe, stable, nurturing environments for all of NC’s children.
