At Positive Childhood Alliance NC (PCANC), we are committed to partnering with local and state-level leaders to build a brighter future for all North Carolina families. We know what it takes to nurture positive childhoods — from reducing the overwhelming stress families face to creating a strong, interconnected ecosystem of support that makes thriving childhoods possible. Our team brings together licensed clinical social workers, public health professionals, pediatricians, child and family development specialists, community outreach experts, and more.

PCANC has deep experience supporting professionals who serve families directly. We’ve taught child and family advocacy, developed communications campaigns to raise awareness and shift norms around family support, and coached hundreds of parent educators. We’ve trained thousands of community-based professionals and helped create pathways to positive change. At PCANC, we believe this work happens in partnership and in community, where local action makes a lasting impact. Together, we can ensure every child and family in North Carolina has the opportunity to thrive.

Supporting Organizations

Across North Carolina, from the mountains to the coast, organizations and their dedicated staff are delivering programs that help families navigate parenting challenges, understand child development, build social connections, and access essential community supports.

Research shows that these efforts are most effective when professionals and agencies receive ongoing, tailored support.

PCANC plays a vital role in providing technical assistance — through training, consultation, and coaching — to family support professionals and agencies across the state. Our team works collaboratively to bring implementation best practices and program fidelity to life, helping professionals adapt proven strategies to the unique realities of their communities. By focusing on the specific needs of each organization, we help maximize their impact, strengthen protective factors, and support positive childhoods for all North Carolina children.

Supporting Communities

At PCANC, we believe in a future where all children have the opportunity to thrive, and families are supported with the resources they need to care for their children. We believe that real, lasting change begins in communities, where the solutions already exist and are waiting to be brought to life.

Our team brings expertise in convening cross-sector stakeholders — both locally and statewide — around a shared vision for North Carolina’s children. We understand that diversity of thought and experience fuels creativity and opens the door to new possibilities. By bringing people together, fostering collaboration, and facilitating collective impact, PCANC helps community coalitions build alignment, set actionable goals, and advance meaningful change.

As trusted facilitators, we guide groups through complex dynamics, ensuring all voices are heard, trust is built, and focus remains on achieving shared outcomes. Our team supports coalitions in developing strategies, tracking progress, and staying adaptable to challenges and opportunities as they arise.

When we align resources, funding, ideas, and action, we can reimagine what’s possible — and create a brighter, more equitable future for North Carolina’s children and families. Together, we can make this vision a reality.
