The North Carolina Children’s Trust Fund (NC CTF) helps strengthen families and communities by providing funds for programs that strengthen families in North Carolina communities. The Kids First license plate was created to directly benefit NC CTF. Kids First license plate sales help bring evidence-based family strengthening programs to more families and communities.

Get your Kids First specialty license plate today!

Here’s How:


  1. Visit the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Specialty License Plate Page.
  2. Purchase your plate using a credit card.

In person

  1. Download the Kids First License Plate Application and fill it out.
  2. Visit your local DMV office and tell them you want a Kids First license plate.

By mail

  1. Download the Kids First License Plate Application and fill it out.
  2. Mail it along with your check to the address on the form.
